AIM 23 Pin ConnectorAnalog connections (these are different from Ultima's instructions)
Connect the following sensor wires which run through the right side luggage box out the back.
- CH1: connect to Fuel Pressure sensor
- CH2: connect to the Oil Pressure sensor
- CH3: connect the 2nd temp sensor (same as water one) to the oil tank
- CH4: connect to Water Temp sensor (fit the sensor to the H tube on the heater line)
- CH5 (black/green wire):
connect to the same color wire on the Fuel Gauge connector (#29) Note: Light/Green, Black & Red/Black are not used.
UPDATE: Ultima simply cut off the end of the AIM channel, extended only the white wire (with a green/black wire) and hid the other 2 wires in the heat shrink. This will NOT work. The fuel senders are sending ohms and the AIM cannot read resistance values...it needs voltage values. This is accomplished with a pull-up resistor. This AIM document explains how to do it.
Here's what I did:
1) Order these resistors.
2) Cut off Ultima's connection to expose the 3 AIM wires.
3) Connect AIM black to #29 black.
4) Connect AIM blue to resistor side with blue stripe.
5) Connect AIM white to #29 green/black AND resistor side with gold stripe.
6. Empty your fuel tank, connect AIM and view live data with mV displayed. Write down that value. Add 1 gal/liter of fuel and write down the new value (be sure to wait a minute for the fuel to balance). Repeat this until the tank is full. Use these values to setup a Custom Sensor in RaceStudio. The values will not be linear.
Note: Ultima told me the fuel senders sends 2.1 ohms for full and 71.9 ohms for empty, but you really need to get your own values. - CH6-CH8: not used
- Speed -1: connect to the AIM speed sensor (provided that bolts to the drive shaft)
- RPM (white wire): connect to Engine Harness #3 (white wire). This is the Engine Speed.
- Short red, white and blue wires: not used
